The state-of-the-art facility stands as a symbol of government’s commitment to restoring dignity to learners and educators in the province.

During the visit, Meyer also assessed conditions at Newcastle Provincial Hospital, where infrastructure challenges have long been a concern for both patients and staff. His hands-on approach signalled a shift toward urgent intervention and visible leadership in addressing service delivery issues.
Speaking after the inspections, Meyer struck a tone of cautious optimism.

“What we are seeing here is proof that when projects are properly managed, they can change lives. But we are equally clear, where there are shortcomings, we will act decisively. Our people deserve nothing less,” he said.

The MEC emphasised that oversight visits are not symbolic, but a critical tool to ensure taxpayer money is used effectively and that projects are completed to the highest standards. He further committed to accelerating stalled developments and holding contractors accountable where necessary.
